My Account Settings

Note: Parents are not monitored if you “Uncheck the Monitoring Box in My Account Settings.

Don’t confuse MyKidisSafe with other software that doesn’t give you all the flexibility to do what you want, and how you want it. My Account Settings showcases many additional features.  Firstly, if you would like to change your Administrative Login or Password, type in your new Admin Login name, then Current Password, New Password and Finally Confirm Your Password. Don’t forget to enter the “Password Question & Answer,” in the text boxes.

An email alerting you to dangerous situations may be sent to “Two Email Addresses.” Enter the email addresses in the text box and keep the box “Checked” if you want email sent to both addresses.  To send email to only one address, uncheck one box.

Lastly, click on the “Save” button to save your new settings.  Click on the “Next Button” and this will take you to the next page.

NOTE: If you monitor “Computer Usage Time,” or would like each User to have specific “Keyword Monitoring,” each User will have to “Login” individually at one computer with their own “Login and Password.”

Here you follow the same steps for “Adding or Changing User Info.”  If you need to “Delete a User,” select the “User” from the drop down menu then click on the “Delete User.”  If you forget “Login or Password,” click on the “Email User Login/Password” button, and they will be emailed.

To select a “Keyword Category” that a User should be monitored for simply check the box.   This enables “Monitoring.”

Monitoring Computer Usage Time” is a feature but it is “not” mandatory.

NOTE: “Users” settings are automatically “Saved” when you navigate to another “User” or “Next Page.”

If do not want to monitor “Computer Time” and keep the computer access with “No Time Restriction” for each User, Leave "button" checked.

You can choose to provide “Computer Time Access,” one of two ways:

  1. A fixed amount of minutes per day (Daily Time Allowed) and the “Computer Access” will terminate.  IE: 90 mins
Or
  1. Only during the hours of, (Only Allowed From). IE: 10:30 AM - 03:45 PM

NOTE: If you do NOT want computer time restricted on a given day (IE: Sat/Sun) then just leave the box unchecked for that day.

Repeat the process for another User.

Advanced User Settings

The last screen of “My Account Settings” is for “Advanced Users.” Remember to simply check the boxes to enable the feature.  Notice that we have enabled the settings for the most important features.

The first feature is “Invisible or Stealth Mode.” This makes the software invisible to your kids and it will be almost impossible for them to find it on your computer. If you use this feature, you must simultaneously enter, “Ctrl 1234,” which makes the “Software Visible.”

It’s important that you note this in a location for easy reference.

Hide in “Control Panel” makes the software visible so you can “Uninstall” MyKidisSafe. Uncheck this box if you want to remove the software.

Next, “Log all Computer Time” provides an alternate way of checking computer usage without having to set up individual Users.

Log all Keystrokes” captures anything typed on the Keyboard.

Log all Websites” records all Attempted and Visited Websites.

Automatically Update with Newest Software Release.”
This is a really important feature that we ask you to leave enabled.  We frequently update features and Keywords which you wouldn’t be able to take advantage of unless we auto-update them for you. We have written the software to only download the newest components and it will “not” over-write your settings. You need powerful resources to help protect your children and with our continual updates, we exceed your needs.

Make Screenshot Every 15, 30 Seconds etc.” makes a screenshot of all the Websites visited. We suggest that you leave this defaulted “Off.” Again, try our defaults and you can adjust them as required.  If you don’t want any screenshots, simply enter 0 Seconds in the box.

Send Log File if It is Larger Than,” is a setting that will make ensure we don’t email you overly large files.

Keep a Copy of all Logs in this File Folder” is where we keep all of your child’s communication. You can change this to any folder you like. If you do, make sure you note where you changed it.

Clear Logs Every X Days or X Mega Bites of Disk Space,” was designed so that you can archive Logs either for an extended period of time, or a short period of time, depending on your hard drive space.  Our default is 30 days. Feel free to adjust this up or down according to your requirements.  We would suggest that you leave the Mega Bites Disk Space defaulted unless you understand data disk space.

“This Pop Up Message will appear every time a User attempts to access a blocked Website or Keyword.”  If you would like this enabled, click on the check box.  You may either use our default language or enter your own in the text box. (Default OFF)
Note: This feature cannot be used in “Stealth Mode.”

Remember, you “must” click on the “Save” button to save your new settings.
